Sunday Racing

The club is now well into the 2008 season (oopps: have you paid your subs yet. If not, you are late!). The first week there was not enough wind for many people, while this week lots of others found it was too windy!

There are some pictures in the Picture Gallery that will let you decide if you should have been out or not! In addition her is a link to some footage of Graham and caroline sailing their twelves..

This coming weekend should be nice and busy on the water: Oppies and Laser 4.7s training on Saturday, and for the club Sunday racing we will be joined by Blazes, National 12s and OKs for some winter racing.

More Prizes

For 2008, the Fleet Captains have been given some extra prizes to allocate to their Fleet during the year. These prizes are designed to encourage you to get sailing: so they may be awarded for the best newcomer, or the best improver, or for the most races completed, or the youngest or oldest competitor, or for the greatest number of different boats sailed, or for the largest class in the fleet, or for the best entertainer (!) etc.

Come along and join in the races, and encourage your Fleet Captain to award the prizes in the most advantageous manner!

Frostbites 2008

The weather forecast is looking good for the start of the Frostbites on Sunday January 6th.

Those of you who ventured down to the club on the still, wind-less, days experienced during the Christmas Series will be itching to get back into some proper wind and racing!

Don't forget, that for the Frostbite Series we have added a Fast Asymmetric Handicap fleet. This fleet will start first in the sequence and consist of asymmetric spinnaker boats with a PY of less than 1100, like the: RS400, RS200, RS500, RS-Vareo, Laser-2000, 29-er, Laser-Vortex, Musto Skiff, B14.

The Fast Handicap will consist of the other fast boats with a handicap of less than 1100, like the Blaze, N12, Phantom, Finn, SuperNova, Fireball, Javelin etc.
