Burghfield Laser 4.7s go to the World Championship
3 of our young 4.7 sailors have been selected to go to Croatia for the Worlds in August, putting them in the top 33 in the UK.
No mean feat from a regular fleet of 8 4.7 sailors at BSC!
Many congratulations to Katie Russell, Jake Bullock and Callum Ellis, and good luck!
Chandlery Closed - 5th July
Mayday Chandlery will be closed on Saturday 5th July 2008.
We will be open on the Sunday 6th July.
Sorry for any inconvenience.
Burghfield Blast - Saturday June 28th 2008
Fancy a change? Come and have a go at the Burghfield Blast on Saturday.
This is an afternoon of Short course, rapid fire sprint racing which is great fun.
Lots of starts, lots of close tactics before the fleet gets spread out and if you have a bad race you get another chance almost straight away.

Wanted: News Editor
This website has become a key part of the club's communication with its members. Its pages contain a wealth of information for new and long term members alike. This front page is the first means of ensuring the membership is fully informed of important information and interesting trivia.
It currently receives around 50,000 unique visits a month, roughly 10 times the traffic it saw during its first summer just 2 years ago.
In order to help keep the site interesting we are looking for a volunteer to help with the news page. Many people help to edit the site at the moment so we are not looking for someone to write all the content. Just someone to encourage the flow of information, keep a watching eye over it and touch it up where necessary.
It is not a huge job but I have been doing it for a couple of years now and it is certainly very rewarding. It doesn't require any web skills although some familiarity with computers won't hurt.
It would be nice to involve someone who is not already on one of the committees as they are already stretched and a new view is always welcome. If you are interested, please stop me at the club or contact me on
Junior and Youth Diary
The Junior section have produced an online diary that is edited by fleet captains to indicate home and away events.

RS 200 & 400 Club Championships 2008
As in previous years we as a club would like to enter two teams for the RS 200 and RS 400 club chamionships which are to be held in late September at Northampton SC. In order to enter the event we need to select the representatives for the club by holding a series of races between now and september to select the best qualifiers. The club has won this event on previous occasions and it is an event full of prestige.
The first qualifier is on the 29th June so the more 2's and 4's we can get on the water the better. for more detail please use the link below.
