Admiral's Club Go To Sea 10th-11th July 2010
Following on from the succes of last years Admirals Club trip to Weymouth, the BSC Admiral's Club is once again planning an outing to sail on the sea. We have arranged with
Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy, headquarters of the sailing for the 2012 Olympics, to take a group from Burghfield on the weekend of 10th and 11th July 2010 and sail at their facilities, either in members own boats or those chartered from Sail Laser.
This year, we plan to start with a briefing at 10am on Saturday morning and sailing by 10.30am. People can choose to travel down on Friday evening or Saturday morning as they wish, or indeed to join us later on Saturday. We will continue sailing on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. Individuals looking to make a longer weekend will be able to carry on sailing throughout Sunday afternoon. Individuals looking to make a longer weekend will be able to carry on sailing throughout Sunday afternoon. Safety cover will be provided from the Burghfield Rib (Eric). Whilst weather dependent, we hope to offer some coaching and stuctured activities.
WPNSA offer very reasonably priced 'hostel style' accomodation at Boscawen House, which can be booked by individuals or groups, subject to availability. Alternatively, people are welcome to make their own arrangements.
Whilst organised by Admiral's Club, we would like to make this event open to all members of BSC interested to try out sailing on the sea, in what promises to be a significant location in 2012.
