Topper Coaching Parents Evening 9th February
Junior Topper coaching - parent/sailor evening Tues 9th Feb at 7:30pm
We are planning a Topper parent/sailor evening on Tuesday 9th February, starting at 7:30pm in the clubhouse for:
- parents and/or sailors of Toppers interested in having some coaching at the club
- parents and/or sailors currently sailing in another class, such as Optimists - either already racing or in G2 Oppie club and upwards, and who are interested in transitioning to the Topper and having some coaching at the club
- any other parents and/or sailors who are interested in sailing a Topper and interested in having some coaching at the club
- any other parents who are interested in what we are doing with Toppers at the club
The aim of the evening is for you to all meet each other and:
- review what we have achieved so far with the Toppers and what the current Topper sailors were doing last year
- to help us understand how many sailors we have interested in taking part in Topper coaching at the club in 2010 and what level of experience they have
- find out what new sailors would like out of the Topper coaching through 2010 and when is the best time to deliver this
- think about how to best integrate Topper coaching/sailing with Oppie Club and the Optimist fleet (if that is felt to be appropriate) and create a smooth transition for those who are interested
- discuss what resources we have and how junior Topper coaching can be best organised and run to deliver against the above and build on the current foundations to maintain a growing, sustainable junior Topper fleet at the club
