Important Update to Dutyman Rosters - 16 JULY 2018

In order to simplify the duty rosters, all remaining Wednesday evening duties have been moved to the Sailing Roster on the Burghfield website duties page.

Wednesday duties are pre-fixed with W -. Duty swapping has been updated to enforce swapping of a duty of the same type only.

If you would like to make a swap with a different duty type please contact the office.

You should receive a notification from Dutyman with details of the moved duty.

Over the next couple of months we will be consolidating ALL rosters into a single Dutyman roster for all duty types. This will mean that members have a single login for duties regardless of duty type and will reduce costs to the club as Dutyman start to implement a number of price increases and changes to their systems.

If you have any queries or problems following this change, please don't hesitate to contact Sharon,

Volunteers needed

We're all going on a summer holiday ....

Due to changes in membership, illness or changes in family and work commitments and the inevitable impact of the summer holidays we have a number of holes in the rosters.

In order, to run great racing and provide appropriate safety cover for members, we urgently need volunteers for the following:

Sun 22 July Safety Boat Assistant

Wed 01 Aug - Safety Boat Helm
Sat 04 Aug - Safety Boat Helm
Wed 08 Aug - Safety Boat Helm
Wed 15 Aug - Safety Boat Helm
Wed 22 Aug - Safety Boat Helm & Safety Boat Assistant
Sun 26 Aug - Safety Boat Assistant - volunteer found thanks James
Wed 29 Aug - Safety Boat Helm
Mon 27 Aug - Safety Boat Assistant

If you are available and could help out please contact the club office as soon as possible. Duties could be swaps for duties later in the year, or additional duties.

Members are reminded that: Members are required to complete at least 2 duties per year unless the duty waiver fee has been paid (excludes Wednesday Evening Series). Failure to complete duties and/or arrange a suitable swap, may result in a duty surcharge being applied. It is YOUR responsibility to find a replacement if you will have difficulty attending.

Further details about all volunteer duties can be found on the website HERE

Tuesday Sailing

Tuesday Tootlers - Social Sailing Every Tuesday Morning

Tuesday Morning Social Sailing

Would you like to sail mid-week, but prefer not to go out onto the lake on your own? Perhaps you'd like to sail but have no crew or your boat is too heavy to manage on your own? Or, you'd like to crew for someone, or have a friend you’d like to bring along. You might be a shift worker with an irregular work pattern.

Whatever the reason, if you would like to sail, why not come to the Club on Tuesday mornings, for a social tootle around the lake. I suggest meeting at 10 am - or thereabouts - under the clubhouse balcony, aiming to get onto the water at about 11am.

Looking forward to seeing you - Adrian Elsey

Wed eve

Wednesday Evening Pursuit

Come and join one of the most popular Wednesday Evening Race Series in the country!

More Details about Wednesday Evening Racing

Don't forget to sign on,check your class and personal handicaps and order supper!

Due to a slightly lower entry last year and a number of regulars unable to compete this year due to cahnges in work commitments, we are looking for a significant number of volunteers especially later in the series.

Maybe you don't want to sail but you'd like a chilled evening at the club - on the water and then enjoy a drink and supper with friends? Maybe you'd be prepared to complete more than one duty this series? If you are available to help, we'd really appreciate hearing from you. Either contact the club office or volunteer directly on the Wednesday Dutyman roster.
