These events, held for approx. 18 weeks in the summer, are very popular - both with complete beginners to the racing scene, and to those who are a lot more experienced, it's the time when the lake is the most crowded! Wednesday evening races are a good time for beginners - the winds are generally lighter and the racing is less serious. Because of the Personal Handicap, you can get good racing against other boats, however skilled or un-skilled you might be. Start times range from 18:45 through to about 19:30 with the slower boats starting first. A mass finish is timed for 20:00 followed by a meal and drink in the Club at about 20:30.
