Guidance for Race Officers & Officers Of The Day

The attached Race Officer Manual and Video will provide you with information about organising racing at the club. It is remarkably easy!!

Remember to check the format of racing and the correct race start times. You need to arrive at least 1 hour before the start to set up.

Trackers - for club racing the trackers are set up in advance and there is no need for the Race Officer to edit using the app. The guidance is for information only and for the occasions where set-up is required - multiple starts (where the times are not all pre-defined, open events).

If you are using the big race timers please refer to the specific "Sailing Timer" instructions. The "Balcony Timer" (Black) has slightly different instructions to the White portable "Sailing Timer". They can be found here - RACE TIMER GUIDES

There are also guides on

  • To use the timer for Pursuit Racing. Whilst the guide shows the setup for the balcony the only difference when using the committee boat is the power source and connection.
  • Using the Trackers for race results
  • The video gives you an end to end journey from arrival, set up, using the tracker app, through to locking up at the end of the day. It is recommended Race Officers, Assistants and OODs familarise themselves with the process -
