A turnout of 9 boats were treated to Burghfield at its gusty best! The morning racing gave the sailors some testing conditions, massive gusts and rain across the lake caused capsizes and planing reaches, which gave the Balcony fleet some great viewing and obviously in their heads race wins!
At lunch the race wins were shared between David Shafto and Douglas Clow, each with a one, two, so the afternoon was all to play for.
David Shafto won to first race in the afternoon, and his Burgfield colleague Peter Barlow had a storming start to the final race, holding off Douglas Clow for the win giving David Shafto the title.
Thanks to the Race and Patrol boat teams who ran a great day in changing conditions!
